The advantages of towns
Read the text and say and say if the sentences are true (T), false (F) or not given (NG).

If you move from the city to a small town, the first thing you'll notice is that everyone know each
other. People stop to chat in the streets, in shops and at the doctor's. Generally, everything slows
down and there's a slower pace of life. This will be difficult to adapt to at first. There's a strong
sense of community and you usually know your neighbours. You can ask for help and support
when you need it. Public transport may not be so good and getting around is often more difficult,
but remember that parking will be much easier if you have a car. If you're looking for work, there
are usually fewer job opportunities. People often have to commute to the nearest city to find work
or even study at university. As for shopping and entertainment, remember that shops and
businesses often close earlier and on Sundays. You may find it necessary to travel to see theatre
or find a big shopping centre. But you won't have to go far to immerse yourself in nature, walk
and enjoy the plants and animals.
A: People don't usually know each other in small towns.
B: It won't be easy to adapt to the slower way of life.
C: Neighbours will lend you their cars if you ask them politely.
D: There are more job opportunities in small towns.
E: Shops are open later hours on Saturdays.
F: You may not have a theatre near where you live if you move to a small town.
