Reading: Clothes
Read the text and choose the correct alternative to complete the sentences.

A hooded item of clothing similar to our 'hoodie' first appeared in the Middle Ages, when monks wore tunics with them, and people who worked outside wore a similar type of clothing.
Champion, the sportswear brand, produced the first hooded sweatshirts as we know them today in the 1930s, to protect workers in New York from extreme wind and cold. Athletes soon adopted them, and so did many people in cold climates. In 1976, cinema goers watched Sylvester Stallone while he was wearing that iconic grey hooded sweatshirt in 'Rocky'.
During the early years of hip-hop in the 1970s, graffiti artists began wearing hoodies to protect their anonymity. It was just a part of the early street, grunge look, and it's fascinating to see how clothes designers copied street culture to make high fashion clothes. Universities make them to sell with their logo on and skateboarders wear them too. Nowadays, the hoodie is a status symbol for celebrity hip-hop artists. And you can even see them in museums. In 2006, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London bought a jewelled hoodie owned by Sean "Puff Daddy" Combs for its permanent collection.
