WHEN LOOKING FOR BILLBOARD LOCATIONS, THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX!
How do you find new locations for billboards? You "think outside the box"!
Let the creative side of your mind take over. Here are some ideas:
• Go to a city that does not allow billboards and negotiate. You could for example gain permission to construct two or three billboards, if you build a few "Welcome to _______" signs at each end of town.
• Instead of starting at the center of town and working out, start outside of town and work in – this gives you a much greater chance of finding locations in the more rural areas.
• Buy existing, old wooden billboard signs and upgrade them. (Make sure it's legal first).
• Go to the owner of a two-sided billboard that was built by a user (E.g. McDonalds, Fina, etc.) and see if they will rent the other side of the bill-board the other way from their business for a small sum.
• Follow new roads and highways under construction, and request permits as soon as possible.
Remember, the more difficult it is to find a billboard location, the more money it's worth once you get one.
