Leaves of Grass: style
Read the text below and find the seven mistakes in it.

The themes of Whitman's poetry needed traditional means of expression. The author rejected rhymes and regular lines in favour of blank verse. His lines are short and their rhythm follows the flow of the thoughts or emotions described. Whitman makes little use of accumulation and addition, replacing the finite verb with the participle to give an impression of unity. On the other hand, he avoids similes and metaphors because he does not aim at evoking, but at denying and celebrating. His new language mixes dialect and common songs with technical terms from science and philosophy.
