Reading – Family memories

My parents always collected some things to bring back home from a holiday. Years later they asked us, 'Where were we when we walked in those hills?' or 'What did you think of that beach, Jennifer?' And they didn't only take photos and leave them on their phone. They printed some and collected them in a special album with short comments about that moment, like where we were and who we were with. They said that storing them on the phone or computer wasn't the same thing. We always collected small objects on our special occasions or holidays, too, like seashells, festival programmes or restaurant menus. When we connected these with the photos, they created a lasting memory. We also associated songs with special moments. My aunt had a memory box where she put objects from my cousins' childhood. For example, she saved a few special toys and books. When they played their musical instruments in public, she prepared short videos, too. Did your parents do these things?
