Reading - A city break
Come to Durham this summer for a great little break. It is just three hours by train from London and two from Edinburgh. There are regular coach services from other towns, and you can arrive from Europe at the Ferry Terminal, 30 minutes away by car. We have a good choice of accommodation, from budget hostels to luxury hotels. For families, we also recommend the Hill Camping site, a short bus ride away. What are you going to do in the city? There are both guided and self-guided sightseeing tours of the city and many excursions on offer. The highlight of your visit will be the Cathedral. It is fantastic and free to visit but they appreciate donations. You might also enjoy either boating on the river or getting on the Bishop's cruise boat for a guided trip. If you want to get off the beaten track, there are both parks and gardens to take a stroll in or cycling tours along the country roads. You will have an amazing holiday!
A: It is faster to get to Durham from London.
B: People arriving by boat will arrive in Durham in half an hour from the port.
C: You will not find many types of places to stay in.
D: Tourists can either visit the town alone or with an expert.
E: The Cathedral is expensive to visit, but stunning.
F: There are two ways to enjoy a trip on the river.
G: They suggest a walk along the country roads.
