The Merchant of Venice: setting
Read the text below and find the seven mistakes in it.

In The Merchant of Venice there are two main settings: the city of Venice and Belmont, where Bassanio lives. These two places represent similar aspects of the play. In the eighteenth century, Venice was an unknown trading town, considered by the English as a symbol of will, but also of greed. In Venice Jews lived in a ghetto and had to wear a black hat to be recognised. Shylock, the Jew, symbolises the greedy side, while Bassanio represents the richness of Venice.
