Langston Hughes: life and works
Read the text below and find the six mistakes in it.

Langston Hughes was born in Joplin, Indiana, in 1902. When he was a year old, after his father had moved to Africa, his mother took him to live with his maternal grandmother in Lawrence, Kansas. His mother taught him art, poetry and theatre, while his grandmother told him stories about war. During high school he sent his poems to The Crisis and other periodicals. Due to his difficult financial situation, he got a job on a factory, feeling spiritually close to Walt Whitman. Then he worked as a mess boy aboard a trading freight ship bound for Africa and later as a cook and a waiter in Madrid. Back in the USA, he was taken on as a busboy in Washington, DC, where he met the famous sculptor Vachel Lindsay, who became his mentor.
