STEP 4 Ready for a challenge? The history of radio
Turn the sentences in bold in Ben's blog post into direct speech.

Do you know the history of the radio?
Hello, young readers, I'm sure that, like me, you don't know much about the history of the radio. Yes, that device which your parents still listen to while driving or on the smart speaker at home. My father is a radio lover and knows a lot about it.
He explained to me that the Serbian American Nikola Tesla and the Italian Guglielmo Marconi both had declared to be the inventor of the radio. It was the beginning of the 20th century. My father told me he had read a lot of articles about it and there was no clear answer because both scientists had carried out research on radio waves. Then he said that there had also been the so-called Golden Age of Radio in the USA, between the 1920s and the 1950s.
My father added that the radio had helped entertain and inform people during the difficult years of the Great Depression and of WW2. He said he was going to tell me more about the evolution of the radio and online radio platforms in the following week. So, I'll post the information, soon. Check my blog!

Ben's father explained to him: ' ________.'
He told him: ' ________.'
Then he said: ' ________.'
His father added: ' ________'.
He said: ' ________.'
